It’s always exciting to see our products featured in publications we love! Edible Austin has displayed an amazing creation from Primizie Osteria’s Chef Mark Spedale on their website. Click here to view more details about the delicious “Quail Duet” dish.

And, for all you Anthony Bourdain fans out there, check out his recent segment on No Reservations about Austin! Keep your eyes open and you’ll see our quail being cooked during his visit to the Odd Duck trailer.

The Sleepy Eater Blog

Austin is well-known for many attractions: live music, the state capitol, and of course, food! Many Austinites who appreciate the fine dining in this city like to document highlights, including Lynley Prather of The Sleepy Eater. Over the past several months, she has had opportunities to try our quail in different settings and has given our products glowing reviews on her blog.

Prather wrote about her dining experience at the Eastside Showroom and had great things to say about the “tender and tasty” quail portion of her meal. Click here to read the full blog post.

In a later post, she describes in detail the “A Moveable Feast” event presented by Brooklyn Laundry. Two dinners were created over a weekend and focused on the book by Ernest Hemingway, one of which showcased our quail. Of the quail, Prather writes “The quail was created to showcase Hemingway’s love for roast chicken lunch in Lyon. I felt the same love towards the quail.” Click here to read the full blog post.

Finally, we were honored to have our quail be included in Prather’s birthday menu. She opted to prepare the quail with another of our favorite foods: bacon. GO TEXAN Restaurant Round-Up

Looking for a good excuse to dine out at a fine restaurant? GO TEXAN is hosting a Restaurant Round-Up September 27 through October 1. Menus at these Austin restaurants will include special Texas-based items and many also contribute a portion of the week’s proceeds to Austin’s Capital Area Food Bank.

Texas Quail: The New Bird in Town

Texas Quail Farms is honored to have been featured on “Best Bites,” the E-Zine for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s GO TEXAN organization.

In the article, “Best Bites” points out that we are “the only state-inspected quail processing plant in Texas.” They go on to interview our very own Scott Holder, who said, “Besides having a good product priced well, our customers know how we raise our birds. Restaurants like Jack Allen’s Kitchen and Ranch 616 in Austin embrace our products because they can come out to our facility and see the process from hatchery to production. They know they are getting a quality product.”
